WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) comes from the traditional Japanese techniques used to create relaxation and activate the body’s ability to heal itself. These techniques support your “life force energy” to flow in harmony so that you can live a healthy, vibrant life. Because of various life circumstances, we can become disconnected or stuck which in turn creates blockages within our bodies. Reiki practitioners simply act as a conduit to facilitate the healing process. Working with Shawn provides that space for one to become empowered to heal yourself.

Come prepared in comfortable clothing that will enable you to get onto a table. A blanket, pillow and or bolster will be provided for your extra comfort. Having a specific area that you would like addressed in your life is beneficial, but not required. If you are experiencing any physical, emotional, mental or spiritual challenges it is helpful to address this before the session in our intake time.

Yes, every client remains fully clothed during each session, but come dressed in comfortable clothing that is appropriate for lying  on a table. Blankets are offered for added comfort.

What can I expect during a Reiki Session?2019-12-28T20:57:42-05:00

Shawn does not use hands on touch during a session, unless she feels it necessary, but will always ask permission first. Hands are held near the body where she works with you to connect to your body’s ability to heal itself. Some people feel tingling, an overall lightness or some feel nothing at all. It’s an individual experience to be with whatever shows up.

One can expect to feel lighter, expanded, more grounded and more at peace with self and others. After a session, it is important to remember that you are your biggest healer. Your thought processes are key to your well being. Being aware of where you attach to certain patterns of thinking and allowing yourself to choose something different. Drinking more water than usual is recommended to help flush out toxins from the body. Maybe taking an epsom salt bath with your favorite essential oils to help ground yourself and continue to flush out any toxins.
